Why Rent from Golden Violins?

Golden Violins stands behinds its rentals. We have a long history of hassle-free rentals. If your instrument needs a tune-up, or your child outgrows his violin, we fix or exchange it from our large inventory. When you come to us for lessons, we also tweak and tune your instrument, keeping it in peak shape.

What Instruments Do We Rent?

Golden Violins rents violins, violas, and cellos on an annual basis. We also rent upgraded instruments for a proportional fee based on the particular instrument’s cost.

Can I Rent to Own or Purchase Instruments?

Our goal is to help all of our clients become musicians. We apply 50% of the rental fees you have paid to the cost of a
new instrument. If you purchase a Golden violin, handcrafted by Harold Golden, we apply 100% of your rental fees to
the purchase.

What Are Your Rental Fees?

Student Violin Rentals – $20 per month with $100* security deposit.
Upgrade Violin Rentals – $30 per month with $100* security deposit.

Student Viola Rentals – $20 per month with $100* security deposit.
Viola Rentals 15” and up – $30 per month with $100* security deposit.

Student Cello Rentals – $45 per month with $200* security deposit.
Upgrade Cello Rentals – $75 per month with $200* security deposit.

Basses – $50 per month with $200* security deposit.

Instrument Rentals

All of our rental instruments are professionally set up by our master luthier for optimal sound and playability. Our instrument outfits include a wooden bow, rosin and case. All instruments have quality ebony pegs and fingerboards as well as D’Adarrio strings to ensure a beautiful tone.

*Security Deposit.

This deposit is refunded when the instrument is returned in good condition.

Please remember that 50% of all rental fees may be applied to any instrument purchase and 100% of rental fees can be applied to any purchase of instruments of $3000 and above in price.

Also note: All rentals and purchases are subject to 8% sales tax. All minor repairs on rental instruments are included free of charge and major repairs are at half the regular price. New strings are charged only at the cost of the string itself with no cost for labor.
